“Aww. Dogs! Dogs! Dogs! I’m feeling a little left out today…”
In an odd synchronicity, three stories simultaneously came our way about man helping dogs. In the first one above, a blind man sacrifices to save the sight of his seeing-eye dog.
In the next one, a man keeps his seeing eye dog, which has gone blind, and his new seeing eye dogs helps both man and dog.
ONE FOR TWO
After six years of loyal service, Graham Waspe was devastated when his guide dog Edward was left blind after developing cataracts.
But his devastation turned to joy when his replacement Opal turned out to be a real gem.
Mr Waspe’s new dog is not just aiding his owner to carry out everyday tasks, but also helping Edward to get around. MORE THE DAILY MAIL
In this next story, man fights to be buried alongside his best friend.
FINAL FUR-WELL
A dog lover has won permission to be buried alongside his ‘closest companions’ – in a pet cemetery.
Retired escapologist* Karl Bartoni is thought to be the first person in the country to be allowed to be laid to rest with his dogs.
And he has taken the unusual step of already having his gravestone installed over the spot where his dogs are buried – while he is still alive. MORE THE DAILY MAIL
* … and, no, the gentleman’s job title did not … ahem! “escape” … our attention: According to Macmillan Dictionary the British definition of an escapologist is “someone who entertains audiences by escaping from ropes, chains, boxes, etc. This form of entertainment is called escapology.”
